Harold Lee Matson
     
Harold Lee Matson, 80, of Clarkston, passed away from old age Dec. 12, 2012, at Sycamore Glenn Assisted Living in Clarkston.
     
Harold was born Nov. 7, 1932, in Grangemont to Christina Irene Tuominen (Stamper). He attended school in Orofino and grew up in that area.
     
After school he joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 20 years, including two tours of service in the Vietnam War. He retired as a staff sergeant.
     
He married JoAnn Marie (Wright) Matson Aug. 10, 1954, at Coeur d'Alene. JoAnn passed away Oct. 21, 1988, leaving behind Harold and six children.
     
Harold greatly enjoyed outdoor recreation including fishing, hunting and camping. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
     
Preceding him in death were his wife; his mother, Christina, and stepfather, Bill; son, Mike Matson; and daughters, Jodie Ann Banks and Nancy Dole.
     
He is survived by his three daughters and their spouses: Linda Miller and Jim, of Clarkston; Kathy Matson and Rex, of Clarkston; and Chris Wright of Clarkston.
     
A service and covered-dish meal in honor of Harold will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., next Saturday at the Lewiston Eagles Lodge.
     
The family would like to extend many thanks to Sycamore Glen for taking such great care of Harold.
